I took the day off of work today so I could go hang out with Kira Mae. She is leaving for school tomorrow so we had to have a little bit of time to hang out. We went to lunch at Teddy Bears and then we went to walk on the bike path. I took this shot on one of the bridges as we were walking. After I dropped Kira off I went with Kate to see her brother’s baby who was just a couple days ago.

Here is my last beach photo for you. Today we left the beach and arrived home in Big Bear where it is nice, quiet and cool. It is nice to be home, as it always is after vacations. Back to work soon…

This morning Matt, Mom and I went shopping at Ross and I got a bunch of pants. Shane came down to hang out for a while today; it was nice to see him. I took this photo when we were down at the beach today.

This morning Matt and I walked around the shops and looked at some clothes. Carrie and her friend came down this afternoon, so we all hung out and went to lunch. Matt and I went out again and bought a couple shirts this afternoon. Tonight there is a street fair and we are going to dinner with Dave and Liz.

Well, it has been another lazy day at the beach. This is a photo of the kite surfers that are out here at the beach. It is pretty cool to see them surfing around and jumping. Sometimes they jump up over twenty feet in the air, it is pretty cool. I like how the black and white emphasizes the clouds in this photo.

It has been a pretty lazy day today…I slept in, then woke up and watched some TV. This afternoon I went on a walk with my mom and we got shakes out on the pier. I took this photo out on the pier; I thought it was pretty neat. I think I am going to wait to go back down to the beach until tomorrow when it is less crowded.

Today would have been Seth’s 16th birthday….which is the reason we are down here at the beach for the week. We have not done much today…we have just been hanging out, watching TV, and going to the beach a little bit. We are like a block from the beach, so it is a really close walk. I took this photo behind our house here at the beach. I know it’s just a boring oil well, but to me it is interesting and I like things I usually do not see.

We got up early this morning to finish some things on the deck before we left for the beach. We got down here to the beach this afternoon and got all settled in. Matt and I went on a bike ride after dinner, which is where I got this photo. I like the shadows of us caused by the car behind us…it looks neat. We went to see Rush Hour 3 late tonight, it was pretty funny.

We almost finished up the whole deck today, except for the stairs, which we are finishing before we leave for the beach tomorrow. I saw the moon coming up over the hill when I was driving today and I thought it would make a neat photo, and it did!

I still have a TON of stickers, so if you want one, or you want more...then please let me know.
I am going down to the beach tomorrow for a while, so you should see a little bit of variation in the photos. I guess you can look forward to that.

Today we finished cutting wood on the saw mill and worked a little bit on the deck. We finished pretty early, which was really nice. Kate and I walked up to this cool little grassy field and took some photos, as you can see. We got to hang out with Annie and David tonight. It was really nice to see them; I wish we could see them more.

It was a very long work day today…we started at 7:00 this morning and did not finish until 6:30 tonight. We sawed wood on the mill for most of the day and then we worked on the deck of the apartment above our garage. This morning when we were cutting on the mill the sun was shinning through the sawdust, so I decided to take a couple photos.

Yes, this is another flower photo. I guess I get in the trend of taking photos of the same things. This photo is of a bucket of tulips that were at Kate’s house for her Dad and Mom’s anniversary. I really like how this photo turned out…

After church this morning I went out to lunch with Jared, Ami-Rose, and Sarah. Sarah leaves for school in Boston on Saturday, so it was good to hang out. Tonight I hung out with Kate, played with her little brother for a while, and then watched a movie.

We did not work today, so instead we went on a off-roading/motorcycle trip up Clarks Grade. Kira came with me and Matt in my truck and Jake, my Dad and Dave Burks drove on their motorcycles. It was a fun trip. This afternoon I came in to see Kate, as you can see in this photo she is still as beautiful as ever and so very cute.

We went down to the Gypsy Den again this week, but this time we took a bunch more people. There were like twelve of us there, it was neat. The band did not start playing until 9:30, so we did not get to leave until 10:30…which means we got home really late, but it’s ok. I really like this photo from the Gypsy Den.

I know…I know, another photo of trees, and sky, and clouds. What is that the fourth one in the past few days? I can’t help it, it just looks so good! Tonight we went and saw the Bourne Ultimatum…I really liked it.

Tonight I played bass at youth group as usual. I decided to take some photos of Matt playing drums; I liked this one a lot of him messing around with the tambourine.

We had church this morning and then we came home to clean cabins this afternoon. Kira got back from China today and we got to go to dinner with her. I am really glad she is back so we can hang out again! Tonight a bunch of people came over to our house to watch the meteor shower. I did not get any photos of the meteors and most of the photos of the stars were out of focus, but this one turned out pretty well….

Today we cleaned cabins and then I went in to see the car show. There were some cool cars, but none of my favorite: 1969 SS Chevy Nova. So I did not take any photos of them…but here is a cool photo of my Dad TIG Welding.

We did not do much work today, just as yesterday, but it is ok, next week I will be getting a lot more hours in. This afternoon a bunch of us went down to Santa Ana to a place called the Gypsy Den. It was a really neat Café where they have live music. We had a lot of fun hanging out, eating, and enjoying the music. This photo is of everyone who went down, minus me obviously, right outside of the place. It was a fun night and I am glad we got to make it down.

Not much work got done today…well at least paid work that is. I went into town this morning to do a couple things and go to breakfast with Kate. This afternoon I helped with some stuff with my Dad and then I worked on my truck for a while. I buffed out my truck with scratch remover and then waxed it…it took me a few hours, but I got most of the scratches out and it looks pretty nice now. We celebrated Jake’s birthday today, since he was gone on Sunday. I took this photo of a roll of film I found outside a couple weeks ago…This photo is a lot different than most of my stuff, but I like how it turned out, looking all grainy and old.

Today I worked on a bunch of different random things…stacking chairs in the morning, cleaning cabins in the afternoon, and then putting tires on my Dad’s truck. Tonight I played bass at youth group; it was fun to hang out with Matt, Jake and the rest of the kids there.

I finished the clutch today! I was also able to do a few other maintenance things such as replacing my fuel filter and then washing my truck. I am really tired from putting in that clutch; it took all of the energy out of me. Tonight my parents had small group and I went to Kate’s for a little while. Tomorrow is back to work…at least the kind I get paid for.

I took the day off work today so I could put a new clutch in my truck. As you can see from this photo, it is a pretty messy job. I did not get it all finished today, but it should be done by tomorrow. My truck is pretty greasy underneath so it makes for not staying clean in any way.

I worked for most of the day today chain sawing Ironwoods and clearing the site for the new cabin. Ken and Dottie were up today so we got to see them quite a bit. It is Jake’s birthday today, but he is not here. He went up to Bakersfield to help Lindsey and her family move into their new house. I took this photo on the drive home tonight; I like how clear it turned out for a driving night shot.

This is once again our goldfish: Preston Randall Schwilson the Third. Kate was cleaning out his regular bowl, so we put him in this little tiny fish bowl; it was pretty funny looking because he could barely move.

This afternoon I went down to LA to buy a sander that my Dad found on craigslist. Shane did not have school so I stopped by his place and hung out for a couple hours. It was really good to be able to hang out with Shane for a while. I did not make it up to Big Bear until after nine tonight because of all the traffic.

Today Jake and I cut trees all day long. We brought in three huge trees, one of which was sixty-five feet long and almost four feet around. The limbs were huge on the sixty-five footer that it took me an hour just to cut them off. Ken and Dottie are down in Big Bear right now, so they were over for dinner. It was really nice to see them.

Yes, today was another day full of cutting trees. We had to finish early so that Matt and I could go into town to play in the band for worship at youth group. I took this photo right after we finished playing. The sun was setting so I got a few usual sunset photos, but I figured I use those to much, so this is something a little different. I hung out at Teddy Bears for most of the night because Kate was working and then everyone from youth group came up and hung out for a while. It was a fun night and it was nice to be able to see everyone.

Today Jake and I cut down two trees in hopes of bringing them back for the sawmill, but they were both rotten, so we went on to start clearing ironwoods from a new piece of property my Dad bought. We are going to build another cabin to rent out so that is why we are clearing the land. I took this photo of the first tree right before we cut it down.
