Here is another autumn shot for you…It has been raining all day today, so with the rain bringing out the colors plus the defused look from the window I was standing in from of, I came up with this shot. I like the look of it…its different.
Kate has been enthralled with Harry Potter lately. She got the box set of the books and she has been reading nothing but that and school. I figured since she was reading so much I could use that for a few good photos. She is so cute, I cannot get over it.
Josh and Lanaya came up the hill tonight to meet me and Kate for dinner at the Teddy Bear. I took this photo while we were hanging out after we finished eating. It was really nice to see Josh and Lanaya, I am glad they could make it up. (I just realized how many different “Josh”s I have been hanging out with lately…I just need to top it off by having Josh Mello come and visit now!)
I took this photo while resting my camera on the bed of my truck, franticly trying to capture the sun reflecting off of the clouds before it disappeared. I did not have time to set up my tripod, hence the resting my camera on the bed of my truck.
I went out to coffee with Josh Pool this afternoon, it was really good to hang out and talk with him. I took this photo when I was waiting in my truck outside the teddy bear before Josh got there.
The leaves were looking wonderful outside today so I decided to venture out and get some photos. This whole deciding between two photos is getting annoying, so I am breaking down and giving you two for one day. Don’t get to use to it though!
Tonight Kate and I drove down to Yucaipa to meet Josh and Nadia for dinner. I stopped on the way down to take some photos of the moon because it looked so cool. I took multiple exposures and then put them together so I could get it to actually look right. Josh and Nadia were down from Santa Rosa to visit their family, which is why we got to see them. It was really nice to hang out and catch up, seeing as I have not seen them in about four years.
They started blowing snow last night at the ski resorts…so I stopped by to take a few photos. It looked pretty cool with all the snow blowing around the chair lifts…
Kate and I met Shane down at the aspen grove where I proposed so we could do some engagement photos today. Shane did a ton with his digital, a couple with my medium format film camera and then these two with the Polaroid camera. The photos turned out really good and I am excited to get the photos from Shane from his digital camera.
I went down to Kate’s school with her today…not much else going on. I took this photo in Kate’s room of the book shelves, I thought they looked neat.
So guess what! I am engaged! I just proposed to Kate a few hours ago and she said yes! (Of course!) I blindfolded Kate and drove her out to this aspen grove she loves. I found a little secluded spot along the stream in the grass where I proposed. I made a journal as my proposal to Kate…I cut out the pages in the back of it and stuck the ring inside of it. It turned out perfect and she loved it. I am so excited, you have no idea. You get two photos for today, because it is a super special day!
I started work early this morning…most of the day was spent chain sawing. Josh and Andrea dropped off Esme at our house today so my mom could watch her while they were down the hill. She was being really funny at lunch stuffing these grapes in her mouth, so I thought I might share the sight with you. Tonight I came in and hung out with Kate. We went to the Teddy Bear for coffee with a bunch of friends, it was nice to hang out and talk.
I went to church this morning and then came home to clean cottages. It took us a while to finish the cottages, but we got them done. I came in to have dinner and hang out with Kate tonight. I took this photo of these tulips that were here at Kate’s house. I know, I know…two days in a row with flowers, well just deal with it ok! I can do what I want! Ha Ha…:)
I worked for most of the day with my Dad, digging the leach line for the septic system at the new house. This afternoon I worked on my 1942 Chevy truck for a while, trying to get it running. I took this photo of the roses in Kate’s room, I like the wilted/dead look of them, it was neat.
Jake and I cleared rocks all day from the area where we are making the pond at our house. I am really tired from picking up those rocks all day. I took this photo on my way into town tonight. Kate and I went to Teddy Bears for dessert with Jared, Ami-Rose, and Hannah tonight…it was nice to see them.
Today I worked all day until it got dark…tonight I came in and hung out with Kate. We took some photos and had dinner. Now I am editing my photos and Kate is doing her homework…
I worked this morning and a little while after lunch and then took the rest of the day off of work. I came into town and got my hair cut, went to the auto parts store and then hung out with Kate and Lanaya. It was nice that Lanaya came up to visit us; it is always good to see her. Ok, guess where this photo is from…
We had an early start this morning so we could get a good amount of work accomplished. Kate came over after I finished work…I cleaned my room and she did homework. I took this photo when she was lying on my bed doing reading for her psychology class.
I worked for a while today, cleaning cabins, unloading stuff from my Dad’s truck and trailer, and putting chains on the tractor. I quit a little early today and come in to see Kate. Here is another autumn photo I took in Kate’s yard…I like this apple tree a lot.
I came in and had breakfast with Kate this morning. Later on today we took Max out to lunch at Teddy Bears. The leaves are so pretty outside right now, so Kate and I took some photos after we fed her horses today.
I worked with Jake for a little while this morning before he left to go down the hill. After that I worked by myself, changing the oil on the tractor and working on the dump truck. Tonight Kate and I made dinner together, it was nice. The wild rose bushes are really pretty right now, as you can see.
I started work late this morning, because I slept in a little bit. Work was pretty short today….Tonight we (Kate, Ami-Rose, Jared, Ashley, Matt and I) went to dinner at Teddy Bear’s, it was a fun night. I took this photo after we were eating dinner…I know, kinda random.
Today I worked with Jake, cleaning up around the house so that we are ready for when it snows. This afternoon Jake, Matt and I cleaned two cabins, Mom was down the hill with Dad so she was not there to help as usual. I took this photo of Kate standing on a mirror she has that use to be in her bathroom. It turned out kinda neat, and crazy…I like it.
I started working again today…we sprayed the decks and cottages with stain today so they are ready for winter. We finished pretty early so I washed and vacuumed out my truck. When we were prepping for the stain on the cottages today I found this old bird’s nest up in one of the eves. It is pretty cool huh? It was so cool how it had the egg remnants in it, I really like it.
I came in and Kate and I went to breakfast this morning…then we spent most of the day just hanging out. I was trying to think of a photo for today and Kate randomly decided to see if she could fit in the dryer...so here she is. Haha. Isn't she cute. We babysat Max for a while and Kate did a bunch of school while I worked on my photos…it is really nice to be home.
Well, I hope you all enjoyed the photos from the Mexico trip. That is all you get for 3 in 1 photos, so don't get your hopes up for any more! Ha ha.
We made it back across the border in to the US today. We crossed over at Yuma, AZ. We waited for my mom to pick us up to trailer the motorcycles home. We got home around 6:30 pm. Kate came out to see me and we had dinner. It great to be home and see Kate.
471 miles logged today…we made really good time because we were on the toll road all day, which is two lanes and has a pretty high speed limit. We stopped along the road today when we say this drag race. They were racing on the dirt, it was pretty funny. We should be back in the US tomorrow; I am really excited to be home.
Another long day today…we did 360 miles this time. We stopped before dark today, because there was not another town for another 120 miles or so. We are making pretty good time; we should be home in a few days.
We drove quite a few miles today…almost 350. This morning was freezing and then this afternoon was boiling hot…Tonight we are staying in the same hotel we stayed at on the way down this road. There was another church along the road today, so we stopped and I got more photos. I hope you like old church photos!
We left at 6:00 am today…and we drove almost 400 miles, it was a lot. Funny story: when we were at lunch today there was a guy who a little English at our table with these two girls. When we were ready to leave he was trying to ask Matt if he liked one of the girls with him. Matt just got up and said “well, see ya later!” and walked out. I guess they really liked him cuz of his blonde hair.
We say this huge old Catholic church today, so we stopped and checked it out. It was neat, and made for some cool photos.
I was driving today and bird hit me in the arm, it really hurt…We finally found a hotel after dark tonight, it’s not too bad.
This is our last day here at the condo, and then we head home. Mom’s flight leaves this afternoon. We were going to leave this afternoon as well, but we are now staying tonight so we can get an early start in the morning tomorrow.
We were up really early this morning to go fishing. I caught six fish...five coral fish and one black tuna. It was pretty fun. I never caught a fish before today, so it was kinda neat. This afternoon we drove in to get some lunch at a little chicken place, and then I came back and had a nap. It’s been a pretty nice day.
I did not do much today….this afternoon I went boogie boarding with Jake and Matt for a while, then I went swimming in the pool for a little bit. That’s about all I did though, it’s been pretty slow. Here is the view from my room; it’s not too bad huh?
We went out to a place called Playa La Gatas today to go snorkeling. It cost us $3.50 each to take the boat out to the beach. We had lunch and snorkeled for a while, it was pretty fun. The rest of the day is going to be pretty slow…I think I will be working on photos for a while.
Another lazy day today…I napped for most of the day…went swimming with my mom for a little bit…played on my computer for a while…and then went to town with Matt to pick up some groceries.
It was a lazy day today. I took a swim in the morning and then sat around for most of the day. This afternoon I took a nap and then went out to a cove on the motorcycles with Matt. Tonight I went over to the restaurant next door to get internet with my computer. I like this place, it is nice, but I am gonna be bored this week.
Today we finally made it to Ziwataneo. It seems like it took us forever to get here. After going down the wrong road and getting completely covered in mud…we arrived at our condo that my mom rented for us. This place is really nice, especially compared to anything we have been to before in Mexico. The five mile road in here is super long and full of potholes so in my mom’s rented car it takes like a half hour to get out to the main road, but on the motorcycles it is not too bad. It is nice to get off the bikes and relax for a while.
